. . . . .
Happy spring, Nextworking friends! Doesn’t it feel good to know that green grass and outdoor happy hours are just around the corner?! We hope this edition of The Spot finds you brushing the dust off your golf clubs (and bowling ball, for that matter) and looking forward to the warmer climes ahead. This month’s issue includes your invitation to join us for a Nextworking first – good old fashioned bowling; tips for recession-proofing your job; a member spotlight featuring one of our longer-standing Steering Committee members; and much more.
And don’t forget to save your spot for the April 30 Nextworking bowling event at the Park Tavern in Saint Louis Park. You’re guaranteed to “strike” up some great new connections while reconnecting with friends made at past events. As always, we thank you for your continued participation and loyalty to Nextworking and look forward to seeing you soon!

Bust out your bowling ball and put on your game face! Our team-based bowling party is sure to have a little something for everyone – clever banter, great shoes, and enough competitive spirit to keep you going through 20 frames of fun!
Park Tavern, a St. Louis Park staple known for its dynamic entertainment and endless menu of food and drink options, will host our first-ever bowling event on Thursday, April 30. Who can resist the 3Bs - bowling, burgers, and beer (hey, even two of three is still a worthy night out, right)?! Don’t remember the last time you broke 80 in a game? No worries, we never have! Did your mom sell your snazzy bowling shoes after you left for college? We’ve got you covered with shoe rental included. Prefer to bowl only with gutter guards? Come on now, that’s cheating…
With limited space for this fun event, we encourage you to jump the gun before the official invite goes out and RSVP today. Park Tav, 5:30 – 8:30 p.m., on April 30!

With a work ethic indicative of his drive to succeed, Nick funded his entire college education on his own by holding up to three jobs at a time for a total of 40 hours a week while tackling 22-24 credits every semester; no small feat! This month’s Member Spotlight includes information on the best rooftop in the Twin Cities and your exclusive invitation, (if you dare!), to Nick’s favorite way to put a long tax season to bed in style.

What They've Learned

“With the current economic situation, there has been an increase in people looking for work and I am often asked what advice I can lend. The 3 key things that always come to mind for me are: People like to work with positive people. Someone once said you should try and be the most positive person you know. Do more than what is expected. Go the extra mile and it will always be remembered. Remember that good things happen to good people, so take the high road in all that you do.”

. . . . .
April always conjures up many things in the mind: busy season drawing to a close, quarter-end behind us, and a flight to warmer temps hopefully within sight. However, the last few months of merry-making have left some of us dreading summer clothes more than missing analyst expectations.
Never fear, Nextworking friends! Whether you want to slim down for the annual Spring Break trip with friends or you want to look your best for our upcoming event (and what shows off arms better than bowling?!), have we got a solution for you!
