Is it just us or is there something kind of exciting about pulling out the winter wardrobe, revving up for what is proving to be an exciting football season, and moving to the warm drink side of the coffee menu? Don’t be fooled by his linebacker stature. Steering Committee member Brandon Norberg is one of the friendliest guys we know. Launching his accounting career at Big 4 firm Ernst & Young, where Brandon is a senior auditor, he cites being around dynamic professionals and learning new things daily as his favorite aspects of the job. With a deep-rooted passion for living life to its fullest and an outgoing personality to boot, we enjoyed getting to know more about Brandon this fall – one of his busiest times of the year (you’ll find out why). If you want to be inspired while discovering what might just be the best Mexican restaurant in the state, read on!

Open any news source and its headlines, although a bit more optimistic today, still point to a lot of work to be done before we see a full economic recovery. We encourage you, Nextworking friends, to keep your heads up and stay motivated as you travel the road ahead. Easier said than done, you say? Take a few notes from our career experts, who’ve been down this road before and have lived to talk about it.

What They've Learned

“Some of the best advice I received came early in my career when I was told ‘Your job is to make your boss’ job easier.’ Upon reflection, this encompasses many things: enthusiasm, a strong work-ethic, creativity combined with a can-do attitude, offering up solutions instead of problems, and a willingness to roll up our sleeves and realize that no job or task is beneath us.”

Best Kept Secret
|
|
. . . . .
Goodbye greasy skillets, take home barware, and some of the most eclectic breakfast/bar crowds in town! Yes, there might be other beer and burger taverns that can make these same claims to fame, but The Uptown Bar & Café will forever hold a very special place in our hearts long after it closes its doors on November 1. What? You didn’t hear or don’t know why you should care about the loss of one of our Cities’ finest jewels?!
